Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, and managing a team of 5 individuals your primary responsibilities will be:
- Managing complete logistics & operations for product transportation along with networking with contractors for vehicle arrangement
- Having good knowledge of freight rates for various destinations in India & cost-efficient mode of transportation's
- Identifying and implementing alternate efficient modes of material transportation.
- Planning & scheduling transport vehicles to the production unit as per dispatch planning & follow-up with transport contractors for ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials to assigned destinations/customers.
- Attending internal and external audits related to transportation and logistical operations.
- Managing rate negotiations & cost optimisation techniques
The Successful Applicant
Ideally you should have a minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience in logistics management and transportation in a manufacturing company, from the paint and chemical industry. You should have managed operations for large volumes & have a good understanding of ERP software's. You should have leadership skills and would be able to work in a cross-functional setup. You should possess clear and concise communication skills.
