About the role
Mayhem Studios is looking for a skilled Senior 3D Artist to help us build exciting new worlds. The ideal candidate will have a passion for games, a strong sense of aesthetically pleasing spaces, and experience with art asset creation and world-building in Unreal 4.
As a Senior 3D Artist, you will be crafting the game world that players will experience. You will primarily be asked to develop terrain/biome/level assets, but you'll ideally also be comfortable creating structures and props as well. This is a full-time position at our Bangalore offices, offering competitive pay and benefits.
Here's what you will do -
- Develop 3D art assets for mobile games, primarily props/biome/terrain/level assets
- Work closely with 3D Lead, Art Director, and other artists to streamline production, Optimize all assets for performance in-engine
- Work closely with Art, Design, and Engineering teams to maintain the balance of visual quality, gameplay needs, and technical performance
What are we looking for -
- Minimum 8-10 years of professional game development experience as a 3D Artist
- Portfolio of relevant artwork, which should include environments, props, high-poly to low-poly workflow. Hard surface modeling/texturing will be a plus
- Expert level proficiency with 3D art fundamentals including modeling, sculpting, UVs, texturing, materials, topology, LODs, and composition
- Expert level proficiency with standard 3D tools including Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter,, Photoshop, and/or others as needed
- Solid understanding of the tools, terminology, and methodologies used in game development
- Must be able to communicate fluently
- Excellent collaborator and problem-solver who can take feedback, work within a fast-paced team, and consistently meet deadlines
- Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and able to adhere to protocols, naming conventions, and file management structures
Pluses
In addition to environments, props, hard surface modeling/texturing is also a plus.
Any skills in Unreal or Unity are a plus, such as materials or level building.
Experience in Mobile game development is also a plus.
