Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a keen interest in global finance and exceptional analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Financial Leadership:
- Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company's financial strategy
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
Raising Capital and Fuelling Growth
- Develop financial models and projections to support fundraising initiatives.
- Engage with investors and financial institutions to secure funding for the company's growth through debt/equity.
- Scope and identify attractive M&A opportunities for accelerated growth
Cash Management:
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, optimising working capital to ensure the financial health of the organisation.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
Business and Finance Systems:
- Oversee the organisation's business systems, including financial software, reporting tools, and other technology platforms.
- Ensure the efficiency, reliability, and security of business systems, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Supervise financial activities associated with human resources, such as payroll.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Establish and manage regular reporting cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of international financial regulations, including the UK regulatory reporting framework.
Line Management responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CFA qualification is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or similar role
- Experience in a start-up environment preferred
- Fluency in English language.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising for start-ups.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory reporting framework.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
