DESCRIPTION
As part of the world's largest online store, Amazon's Restricted Products (RP) team protects Amazon customers from products that are illegal or otherwise restricted by Amazon policies. As a Risk Manager on the team, you'll help design, create and deploy internal tools and tech to mitigate risk that keep Amazon a safe place to shop. You'll partner with world wide stakeholders to drive risk mitigation initiatives and have the best user-facing tools and help us stay up-to-date with emerging threats and risks in the e-commerce space.
Key job responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
Risk Manager-Restricted Products will be responsible
to mitigate risk for RP programs whose charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, hazardous, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited /regulated by Law and Amazon policies.
. Perform Risk reviews to meet compliance and risk goals and in turn support internal business units to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
. Responds to reported violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative and corrective procedures
. Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities with WW stakeholders
. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
. Work with various Amazon teams to formulate strategy, seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies
. Link all the programs to business metrics and build solutions keeping that in mind
. Work with various internal teams to help drive tools, best practices and process improvements that affect classification speed of the program
. Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews
Key Performance Areas:
. Establish SOPs, process controls, recommend revisions and ensure alignment with risk and regulatory requirements
. Measures key metrics, process or control risk to inform product and program level risk assessment
. Maintains subject matter expertise and current industry knowledge to operationally execute risk management programs
. Deliver business goals for processes handled
. Ideate new initiatives for risk mitigation and partner with product and science team to develop new work streams
About the team
The Restricted Products Worldwide Compliance Health team acts as 'the pulse of Restricted Products' by developing process to reduce risk on our catalog, driving risk metrics, standardization and simplification of process, across all teams in RP based on gaps or defects identified in a given process, re-evaluation of standard operating procedures and targeting new signals. WWCH team members are single threaded leaders with accountability to identify gaps and reduce risk on our catalog. The team prioritizes risk reduction and works with global program leads, to setup and standardize processes for risk reduction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications
. Possess communication and leadership skills
. Able to work in an ambiguous, dynamic & 'internet-speed' environment with tight deadlines
. Have an absolute passion for ensuring a great customer experience
. Minimum 4 to 8 years in interacting with WW customers / stake holders. Possess exceptional skills in managing data/analysis
. Outstanding attention to detail Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills
. Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
. Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications
- Education or certification background such as Six Sigma, Lean Techniques, or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Mastery of Excel, Power Point, Word
- Demonsrated success working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in writing/ amending SQL queries will be an added advantage
