POSITION NAME: Software Engineer
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Molex LLC is a leading supplier of interconnect solutions for the automotive, medical, consumer electronics, and datacom industries that link todays world and solve tomorrow’s challenges. Molex is seeking a world class, self-directed Software Engineer to build software solutions from the ground up to support the development, manufacturing, and testing of cutting edge high-speed electrical interconnects. We’re looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas including scientific programming, information/databases, test & verification, AWS services. As a software engineer you will employ Python,AWS and innovative development techniques, working collaboratively with other team members and our global manufacturing centers to build software solutions to solve challenges in any areas of the business. To succeed in this role a candidate must utilize entrepeneurial thinking and a strong passion for software engineering. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Software Design 1. Utilize software expertise and entrepreneurial thinking to address challenges in any area of the business including design, manufacture, test, verification, and more. 2. Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and SI engineers to design and build Python software solutions to test and verify high-speed, functional, and low-speed electrical performance of 56Gbps interconnect solutions. 3. Create desktop software (Python,database) to streamline, optimize, and add capabilities to our global manufacturing centers. 4. Collaborate with the various engineering teams to identify and build Python software to improve the engineering design process through enhanced design tools, data analysis tools, and various engineering efficiency tools. 5. Mentor team members and others on software design best practices. 6. Show a strong passion for learning and software to ensure skills are kept up-to-date with the latest technologies. Software Support 1. Collaborate with our global manufacturing centers to ensure released software is well supported and issues are addressed quickly. 2. Evaluate new opportunities for software solutions to solve existing problems by actively engaging with teams throughout Molex including marketing, design, manufacturing, and quality teams. 3. Mentor team members and engineers from other disciplines on software best practices, data processing, basic Python scripting, and more. 4. Track and analyze feature requests, bug reports, etc to meet and exceed our customers’ needs. Software Reliability 1. Evaluate and improve software reliability and performance using code reviews, design reviews, and unit testing. 2. Analyze test results, prepare reports, and make required software modifications. 3. Work on documentation, and publish it internally for use by other engineers. SCOPE: Works individually and coordinates team efforts globally to complete projects with minimal supervision. EDUCATION: REQUIRED: · B.E./B.Tech Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Sc Engineering WORK EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: 5 years of progressive software engineering experience with Python . Minimum 3 year of strong experience in Python development . SKILLS & ABILITIES: REQUIRED: Proven working experience in Python development. Ability to work on new concept. Ability to analyse electrical test data based on signal integrity. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard techniques for software verification and validation. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely with global teams. High proficiency using analytical tools and code review tool. Familiar with agile working model. PREFERRED: · Experience with scientific Python libraries and tools like NumPy, Pandas, and Anaconda Knowledge on different development principles/framework. Knowledge on CI/CD.
