Job Summary
The Data team within Global application performance technology (GApT) supports Specialty business in digital transformation projects across divergent functions. We are seeking a data analytics specialist/scientist to work on end-to-end analytics projects and deliver insights. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in advancing data-driven decision initiatives and contributing to the success of material informatics and customer experience programs at SABIC Specialties R&D. The candidate should have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. Whether it be predicting the properties of polymers or understanding the customer behavior, the candidate gets to work in multi-faceted data analytics projects. The data team is a new team looking to explore and expand with the candidate’s contributions.
How You Can Be the Impact (Responsibilities)
Support decision science programs like Material Informatics and Customer Experience within the R&D data team and communicate with stakeholders on daily basis
Coordinate end-to-end analytics from data ingestion to serving. Independent handling of data analytics, data engineering, and data science domains for R&D programs. Apply and develop pipelines and tools to efficiently collect, clean, and prepare large volumes of data for analysis with minimal guidance
Analyze user and material data, perform data anomaly detection and correction, and present findings. Prepare presentation materials for project status reviews and run regular meetings in alignment with team and organizational goals
Explore new tools and processes for handling material informatics and customer experience programs. Learn and utilize commercial tools such as SAS JMP, Altair RapidMiner, custom scripts, and proprietary analytics platforms as required for the work
What Matters to SABIC (Job Requirements)
BSc/BA/B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is must
Trainings or certification in statistical analysis and programming using Python/SQL is preferred
Additional certifications or trainings in applied fields such as Python for Machine learning, Data engineering using Apache Spark, Optimizations algorithms is a plus
Minimum 1+ years of experience working as a data analyst or data scientist. Any Previous experience working in academic, or research environments is preferred
Must have experience in exploratory data analysis, data quality management, data cleaning, and preprocessing using Python/SQL.
Demonstrated experience in building machine learning models including deep learnings models and understanding of generative models is a plus
Applied experience in data preparation tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and ML (Machine Learning) libraries such as PyTorch, PySpark, Tensor Flow 2.0, SciPy, Scikit Learn etc. is preferred
Proficient in Data Visualization using Python or BI tools such as PowerBI.
