Principal Cloud Software Engineer - Communication Global Industry Unit (CGIU)
Overview:
Oracle Communications enables service providers and enterprises to rapidly deliver and monetize digital lifestyle services, build elite customer experiences, and streamline operations. This position is for the monetization division within Oracle's Communication Global Industry Unit (CGIU). You will be joining a strong and motivated product engineering organization for Oracle Communications' Converged Charging product.
The Oracle Communications Converged Charging System is a rating, charging, and balance management application for Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management and is built upon proven Oracle technologies such as Java and Oracle Coherence. The Converged Charging System supports the demands of sophisticated and large-scale communications service providers that demand incredibly high performance and agility. Oracle Communications is enjoying our journey in helping service providers globally pursue their 5G aspirations.
Oracle is looking for experienced Principal Software Engineers to grow our R&D team in Bangalore. As a Principal Software Engineer on the team, you will be involved in leadership role to design, develop & release of Cloud-native application services and functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze designs, develop, test and implementing innovative solutions to ensure a high level of quality, robustness, scalability and performance while meeting delivery schedule commitments.
- Working with multi-functional teams in Quality, Documentation, Performance, Program Management to achieve agreed upon results, coordinating and working closely with remote teams to meet the needs of the project.
- Playing a pro-active role to make the customer successful by addressing customer questions and issues.
- Owning consistency and high quality in solution delivery
- Participating in architecture and design reviews for projects that require complex technical solutions.
- Develop and promoting architectural best practices and standards.
- Providing input into plans and work closely with the development manager to ensure project success.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Minimum 10+ years of experience with hands-on experience in the design and development of enterprise applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills with the ability to thrive in a high-performance team.
- Experience with server-side Java development or high-performance application development
- Experience in Java, Spring, Helidon, or other microservices frameworks
- Web Services development using Open API, REST, JSON, SOAP, XML
- Experience with event-based integration using Kafka.
- Experience in design patterns, UML
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm deployment architectures & toolsets
- Expertise in UNIX programming environments.
- Exposure to continuous integration environments like TeamCity, Jenkins, SPOCK unit test framework, Behavior driven development is a plus.
- Knowledge of software development Agile methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
- Domain experience in the 5G Telecom Charging and Billing is a plus.
- Telecom Applications and Systems - OCS, PCRF
- Telecom Networking protocols - Diameter, SS7
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or equivalent
