Reporting to (position) Engineer Direct Reportees -
Purpose Statement
Supervise the routine & non-routine (Project, modification, shutdown & breakdown) instrumentation works i.e. repairs, calibration, troubleshooting, functional testing, installation, removal, termination in field & shop floor
Key Role & Responsibilities
- Take the plant round for condition monitoring of instruments & control systems, share findings with superior & plan for execution of corrective measures
- Assign, monitor & review job of contract agency / third party etc.
- Act on deviations reported by production team and update results to superiors as well as production team
- Plan, guide & repair defective instruments in field & workshop
- Troubleshoot the chronic or system related problems with the help of engineer
- Conduct the functional test of newly received instruments
- Co-ordinate for or execute cable terminates / glands to the instruments & systems
- Ensure reliable power source to instruments & systems
- Ensure or fill the calibration report, checklist, daily log sheet, involve in departmental documentation etc.
- Interpret & explain drawings wiring, hook ups, general arrangement (GA) etc. manuals. to technicians
- Manage the entire shift work and update to the engineers
- Maintain, operate & handle tools, test and measuring devices as per parameters
- Ensure & maintain housekeeping in area of ownership through instrument cleaning by self or with the help of contract workmen
- Manage the instrument spares inventory through coordination, collection/deposition of instruments at stores
- Ensure, contribute to participate in workplace safety by [PTW (Permit system), JSA(Job safety analysis), toolbox talk, contract employee safety, BBS (Behavior based safety)]etc.
