Job title: Electrical Architect (Hardware Architect)
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on applying research results and technology advancements to improve and release new advancements of Philips Systems. Our systems need to fulfill all applicable international standards.
u200BIn this role of Electrical Architect , you are responsible for the development and maintenance of Hardware Subsystems/Components and will gain substantial knowledge of complex systems in medical imaging, / Mechatronics environment. Together with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, you play a crucial role in getting these systems/sub-systems to the required performance, by developing the designs related to electrical, electronics, digital, controls etc. and looking for the best solutions within those boundaries. This requires broad orientation, conceptual skills and a u201Ccan dou201D mentality, keeping abreast with all trends and advancements in technology and medical imaging.
You are a part of Hardware Engineering R&D team, located at Philips Healthcare Innovation Centre (HIC) Pune. HIC is playing a key role in Philips global strategy for various modalities for Medical Devices across various modalities like Interventional Guided Therapy (C-Arm, Fixed systems & Devices) Diagnostic X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Hospital Patient Monitors, Sleep & Respiratory devices, Hospital ventilators etc. components and products. With Philips HIC, the foundation was laid to touch billions of lives and reiterate Philips commitment towards healthcare growth markets. Our teams consists of an open and multi-cultural team working on lifecycle management (PQ&M) and new product introductions (PDLM ). The key competences of the electronics department are hardware infrastructure, interconnectivity, power infrastructure and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) on system level. We work with SAFe in Hybrid model.
Your role:
- Requirements, design, implementation, test and integration of module/sub-system in accordance with theu00A0higher-levelu00A0architectural requirements and design specificationsu00A0
- Ensuringu00A0that the design is consistent with theu00A0higher-levelu00A0architecture and requirements
- Ensuringu00A0that the proposed design would have the safety, reliability and quality features built-inu00A0
- Responsible for ensuring that the design meets the performance, quality and cost criteriau00A0
- Conduct concept and feasibility studies. Leads the introduction of new technologiesu00A0
- Ensuringu00A0that there is proper documentation per standards for the developed designu00A0
- Ensuringu00A0the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate components in modular design that meets the product specificationu00A0
- Ensuringu00A0that his design modules meet the product certification requirementsu00A0
- Drawingu00A0up personal schedule and reports on progress
- Definingu00A0and assessingu00A0the Work Breakdown Structure/planning/costs of his/her area
- Beingu00A0abreast of technical developments in own field through study of literature and technical contactsu00A0
- Mentoring/guiding/hand-holding young engineers in the team and helping them ramp-up well

You're the right fit if:
- Completed engineering studies at University level BE/BTech/ME/M-Tech in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, with 12+ years of experience
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art methods/tools (CAD/simulation) used in electrical design
- Experience in Analog, Mixed Signal Board Design and Power Electronics designs
- Experience in 16/32-bit microcontroller-based design and interfacing
- Knowledge of cable harness design
- Knowledge of communication interfaces like RS232, RS485, CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet and USB
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and testing for conformance
- Good hands-on experience in schematics and PCB design tools (e.g. Cadence / mentor Graphics)
- Knowledge of mechanical design compatibility aspects
- Knowledge of IEC 60601 standardsu00A0will be an added advantageu00A0
- Knowledge of Embedded Software Programming will be an added advantage
- Ability to understand and debug problems across hardware/software boundaries
- Knowledge of Global Medical Quality and Regulatory Standards e.g. IEC, FDA, UL, CE, CSA etc.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Agile,u00A0Clear-quest, Windchill or equivalentu00A0
- Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently
- Able to guide and mentor young engineers in the team
