Job description
RPG Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining application systems and identifying methods for improving computer systems capabilities, increasing operating efficiency programs, or adapting current programs to new requirements. In addition to the main job purpose, the individual performs many other roles.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Apply a strong knowledge of application development techniques and tools to design, develop, test and implement various application solutions. Experience in Data Conversions from multiple sources (Flat Files, CSV, ASCII, ) to AS400 Must be able to read understand, generate, and amend technical documentation in addition to completing formal process documentation. Construct Web Forms and Windows Forms applications Work with a minimal amount of supervision or direction Analyse existing program logic and design enhancements based on correction and/or modification requirements. Ensure development is effectively and efficiently communicated through each stage of the Development Life Cycle Willingness to learn and take ownership of new products and technologies as per company/project requirements. DESIRED SKILLS: 3 to 4 years of experience performing a broad range of RPG design and programming activities. At least 3+ years of RPG programming, preferably for iSeries 2+ years related free format RPG ILE programming experience. 2+ years of experience using embedded SQL. SQL statement for data management is a plus! Advanced knowledge of keyword and their functions Proven track record of managing one's workload and being self-driven Personal commitment to an organization and the desire to build tenure with an organization!
