Job description
As a Piping Engineer you will be responsible for the design implementation and maintenance of piping systems within various engineering projects. Your role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to the overall success of projects by providing expertise in piping design and engineering.
Piping Design:
- Develop detailed piping plans and layouts based on project specifications.
- Utilize computeraided design (CAD) software to create and modify piping drawings.
- Ensure that piping designs comply with relevant industry codes standards and regulations.
Material Selection:
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for piping systems considering factors such as fluid compatibility temperature and pressure requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source and acquire piping materials.
Pipe Stress Analysis:
- Conduct pipe stress analysis to assess the structural integrity of piping systems.
- Identify and address potential issues related to thermal expansion vibration and external loads.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines including civil structural and mechanical engineers to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.
- Coordinate with project managers architects and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that piping designs and installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
- Perform regular site inspections to assess the quality of piping installations.
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare cost estimates for piping materials labor and installation.
- Monitor project budgets and provide input to costsaving initiatives without compromising quality.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation including technical specifications drawings and project reports.
- Keep accurate records of design changes and project milestones.
Project Support:
- Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
- Address and resolve any issues related to piping systems in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in piping design and engineering.
- Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes related to piping design (e.g. ASME API).
- Familiarity with pipe stress analysis software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in piping design and engineering.
