Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the technology sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery planning, and IT service management. They will be responsible for ensuring our organizations resilience in the face of potential disasters or disruptions, minimising downtime and ensuring the continuity of critical business operations.


Job Roles, Responsibilities & Goals:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and prioritise mitigation efforts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain IT service continuity plans and procedures.
- Establish and maintain communication protocols to ensure timely response and recovery in the event of a disaster or disruption.
- Lead and facilitate disaster recovery exercises and simulations to test the effectiveness of plans and procedures.
- Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to enhance the organizations resilience and response capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging threats to improve continuously business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide training and awareness programs to ensure all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in the event of a disaster or disruption.\

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery planning, and IT service management.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans in a technology environment.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) or equivalent are preferred.
