Job description
• Recording financial transactions accurately in accounting software or spreadsheets, including invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses.
• Managing the companys payments to suppliers, vendors, and creditors, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Tracking customer payments, generating invoices, and following up on overdue payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Ensuring that the companys bank statements match the recorded transactions in the accounting system, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Preparing regular financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the companys financial health.
• Monitoring and categorizing company expenses, identifying areas of overspending, and recommending cost-saving measures.
• Ensuring that the company complies with tax regulations by calculating and submitting accurate tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax.
• Calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, and processing payroll accurately and on time.
• Organizing and maintaining financial records, documents, and supporting documentation for audits or compliance purposes.
• Assisting in the creation and monitoring of budgets, comparing actual performance to budgeted figures, and providing recommendations for budget adjustments.
• Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Zoho Books, Zoho Invoices or Excel, to manage financial data efficiently.
• Collaborating with internal teams, managers, and external stakeholders to provide financial insights, answer queries, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in an Accountant role with increasing responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software, e.g., Zoho Books.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
