Job Overview
As an Editor at ZebraLearn, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the literary landscape by working closely with our authors and writers to refine their manuscripts and prepare them for publication. Editor Responsibilities at ZebraLearn
- Edit Content for Clarity, Coherence, and Adherence to Editorial Standards: Review and refine manuscripts to ensure they are clear, coherent, and aligned with ZebraLearn's editorial guidelines and quality standards.
- Conduct Thorough Proofreading: Diligently examine content to identify and rectify errors in grammar, punctuation, and syntax, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Fact-Check and Ensure Accuracy: Verify all factual information and data, ensuring that content is reliable and error-free.
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Collaborate with authors and writers to offer constructive feedback, emphasizing their strengths and suggesting improvements to enhance the overall quality of their work.
- Ensure Consistency in Style and Formatting: Maintain uniformity in writing style, tone, and formatting throughout the book's content, fostering a cohesive reading experience.
- Team Collaboration: Engage in effective communication and cooperation with authors, writers, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of editorial content and meet project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a Content Editor or similar role in the publishing industry.
- Familiarity with various editing and style guides.
- Exceptional writing skills with an emphasis on grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for language.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide constructive feedback to authors and collaborate with team members.
- Proficiency in using editing software and tools, such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and embrace new technologies and processes in the publishing industry.
