Job Description
This role is crucial in shaping and advocating for policies related to second-life applications and the battery recycling industry in India and Globally. The candidate will engage with government agencies, & industry stakeholders and undertake Market research, and technology analysis to develop the technology, policy, and regulatory frameworks for a sustainable ecosystem for second-life applications and battery recycling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead activities under the India Reuse and Recycling Council (IRRC) to address the gaps in the existing recycling ecosystem.
- Policy advocacy activities through engagement with government agencies, working groups/technical committees, consultation workshops, conferences, etc.
- Engagement with relevant stakeholders (government agencies, industry, R&D, etc.) in the battery recycling industry.
- Research and analysis of the battery recycling ecosystem, including technologies, business models, policies, and regulations in India and globally.
- Understand the global recycling and second life market and provide inputs to new start-ups
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings on battery recycling policy developments, initiatives, and outcomes. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Effectively manage the request intake process, including proposal preparation for clients.
- Ability to answer requests from government agencies and Industry members in a time-bound manner.
- Participate and represent IESA/ IRRC at various government committees, forums, and conferences.
- Identify and engage with companies involved in battery second-life applications and recycling in India and globally.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, environmental policy, Environmental Science, energy, chemical engineering, or a related field with 2-3 years of experience in the battery recycling space.
- Experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or government relations, preferably in the environmental or waste management sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze, and summarize data.
- Excellent skillset in writing, presentations, and communications with stakeholders
