About the Department Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG. Communications Associate will support the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India in advancing its communications function. This is a full-time (Consultant role). Key Responsibilities A. Content Communications (50%) Support and implement OPSA’s communication and outreach strategy. Document and develop content & design communication collaterals to disseminate various outreach material, including major visits and meetings of OPSA. Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance OPSA's online presence. Create engaging content for social media platforms to increase audience engagement and awareness of OPSA’s initiatives. Monitor social media channels for trends and feedback, and adapt strategies accordingly. Support Communications Specialist in providing editorial support for various outputs of the OPSA including the annual report, newsletters, press releases, and other collaterals Provide policy communication support to the policy unit of OPSA. Coordinate with cross-cutting teams for internal communication and content management within the OPSA. Manage partnerships & external relations of the OPSA with stakeholders from academia, industry, international organisations and other governments. B. Website Handling (50%) Support Specialist (IT and Digital Services) in vendor management for OPSA. Curate news and articles on important S&T matters worldwide for website updates, ensuring that the content is relevant, accurate, and up-to-date to keep visitors informed. Write and update weekly blogs and articles on the website, covering a range of topics related to OPSA's mission, initiatives, and the broader S&T landscape, engaging audiences and fostering interest in OPSA's work. Update the Latest Updates and Press Releases sections of the website. Collaborate with OPSA's officials to ensure that website content is up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with OPSA objectives. Assist in the implementation of website analytics tools to track performance metrics, providing insights to inform future website enhancements Qualifications 2-3 years of communications experience, preferably in a government agency dealing with S&T matters. Bachelors or Master’s in Science, Engineering, Public Policy, Economics, International Relations and related fields. Good understanding of the broad science and technology ecosystem. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in managing vendor deliverables and ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines. Experience in drafting and developing communication outputs such as press releases, newsletters, reports, policy briefs etc Experience in producing short-form content and producing high-quality infographics and posters for social media dissemination. Very good English language skills, particularly in popular Science writing. Fluency in regional languages is an added advantage. Experience in handling and updating the website data using CMS like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc. Strong attention to detail and quality assurance skills for reviewing website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Branding Guidelines. Basic understanding of web technologies, HTML/CSS, and digital tools relevant to website management would be an added advantage. Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
