Purpose of the Position:
The IT Infrastructure Head’s role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing IT staff members, contractors/consultants, and the overall IT operation with a focus on ensuring the stable operation of the organization IT Data Centre , server infrastructure and office IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, such as the Data Centre, Windows & Unix Servers, Storage, Database Servers, Device Management, VMware & Citrix Virtualization and other infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the operational excellence of the Data Centre and Operations team, including implementing ITIL and ITSM procedures and best practices for the technology organization. Education and Experience: Relevant Engineering Education 14-16 Years of relevant work experience Preference if candidate is coming from Internet company / project with large scale Personal Skills: Strong Leadership and positive mindset with strong focus on execution excellence. Results driven person who empowers teams. High technical decision quality. Forward thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations. Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure Strategy: Development of an effective Networking and telecommunication strategy in line with the Business Strategy. Evaluation and selection of new Networking technology to support new products and services for the Business. Direct and supervises the work of personnel and /or contractors assigned to the department, in terms of network equipment and software installation, systems support and maintenance and organizes prompt network support by assigning the available technical resources. Data Centre Strategy: Directs and optimizes all the operation of servers, networks and Collaboration systems. Creates functional strategies and develops budgets, policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Provides timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service to support business function at effective cost System Administration and Operations: Management and control of the server farm and Office Automation operations specification, selection, and procurement of servers and office automation software. Provide management and oversight for IT infrastructure including System Engineering and Systems administration operations and maintenance as well as development of new IT initiatives. System Security : Analyses plans, designs and implements systems security policies and controls in accordance with Business requirements. Build a systems security architectural framework that is applicable throughout the organization for Both Server farm and the office network systems. Business Continuity Planning: Assist in the development of a Business Continuity Plan for the IT operations. Provide and execute detailed Disaster recovery plans Network, Servers and other Office Automation systems Liaison with telecoms bodies for deployment of the BCP and internal business units for maintenance and deployment of the BCP. Out Sourced Support Services: : Manage a team of outsourced Support vendors based on both head office as well as regional offices for support of the hardware/network platform.Job tags
