Job Title: Team lead, Cloud Operations (Hosting)

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a Technical Manager or Supervisor for Cloud Operations to manage the day-to-day activities of a growing Hosting Operations Support Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our cloud architect & senior engineers in helping to drive improvements to our automation capabilities, which will allow Centric to easily scale our rapidly growing customer base.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to transform and automate how we currently monitor servers and services.
  • Coordinate a small team of support engineers and guide the team responsible for providing hosting infrastructure monitoring (Datadog, Nagios etc.) and other services (e. g. servers, storage, cloud, automation tools).
  • Reporting on performance metrics such as uptime and working on additional reporting capabilities.
  • Driving the completion of process and procedure documentation of all standard activities.
  • Creating and documenting service improvement processes for Cloud Support personnel.
  • Managing the daily activities of environments in AWS, GCP, and MS Azure to include interfacing with customers.
  • Overseeing customer communication activities such as new deployments and hardware reconfigurations.
  • Helping to drive cost reduction activities.
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans to meet KPIs and SLAs.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a technical field such as IT, MIS, engineering, or related field, 7 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and automation for a high-tech company.
  • Technical hands-on manager or supervisor.
  • Root cause analysis experience.
  • Experience supervising a 24/7 monitoring group in a ticketing system-based customer support environment.
  • Success with managing new tool and application implementations.
  • Strong understanding and experience in deploying cloud-based applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at a variety of technical levels.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team including physicists, scientists, and engineers in a fast-paced environment and with multiple projects.

  • Evaluate systems and make recommendations for improvements and solutions.
  • Self-motivated and work well independently.
