Job Summary

The Background Investigations Associate Manager sits within Iron Mountain’s Risk organization and reports to the Senior Manager of the Americas, Background Investigations Program. As part of the Americas Background Investigations team, the role is will be responsible for working with key internal stakeholders (Legal, Human Resources, Talent Acquisitions and Operations) to administer the program, execute applications, to analyze, interpret, and adjudicate the results of background investigations, drug tests, and motor vehicle searches pertaining to employee candidates, as well as existing employees whilst maintaining alignment to internal risk policy, customer agreements, legalization and key industry accreditations e.g. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Section 19 Hiring Guidelines, The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and National Association for Information Destruction (NAID)

Essential Responsibilities

Review and adjudicate background investigations with derogatory information in accordance with Background Investigations Program and ensure FCRA requirements are met in instances of failed background investigations. Be a subject matter expert relating to Americas background investigations and be able to guide decision-making in the interpretation and adjudication of issues relating to company policies. Communicate with vendors to ensure results of background investigations and substance abuse tests are properly reported in accordance with service level agreements. Be able to lead discussion, provide solid analysis and stay apprised of hiring volumes/trends when working with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources and Legal teams. Maintain necessary files and statistics to track volumes, trends and issues as appropriate. Provide customer service and response to questions or concerns from internal customers in a timely manner. Participate in external customer and/or customer regulatory assurance activity and audits to ensure standards have been have met the standards set forth by policies. Provide support for any other Background Investigation program tasks and projects, as necessary.

Job Requirements

Individual must be able to communicate effectively in English and operate a variety of PC-based software including MS Office & G-Suite programs and database work. Must be a quick learner with the ability to self-start and complete tasks with minimal supervision. Candidate must be detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience: 6+ years of relevant team handling experience into background verification & Investigating, and Corporate Security
