SalarySe is a salary powered fintech platform that is redefining the landscape of financial services in India for the 10 Crore salaried households earning $300bn+ per year. Its focus on lower to middle-class salaried employees constituting ~60% of the salaried income pool in India with a mission to enable seamless UPI - credit - rewards experience at best-on-street prices and convenience. SalarySe provides revolving credit on UPI by integrating with payroll systems of companies and uses a lien on salary for repayments as a lever to reduce credit risk We are backed by marquee investors in Peak XV (formerly Sequoia India and South Asia) partners and Pravega Ventures in our bid to fundamentally reimagine the experience of consuming financial products in India.

Roles and Responsibility:

We are seeking a founding leader for our Credit Policy team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining underwriting and limit-management policies for unsecured lending products.

Near-term responsibilities:

1. Building and managing an inhouse credit policy team. 2. Develop, refine, and optimise credit policies, rules, and decision-making criteria based on market segmentation and customer profiles. 3. Collaborate with analytics team to build credit decisioning models and internal credit scorecards that enhance the underwriting process. 4. Create and design comprehensive end-to-end processes to ensure that credit policies are consistently implemented.

Long-term responsibilities:

5. Performing market analysis and statistical analysis of our portfolio to make policy changes accordingly. 6. Ensure that all credit policies adhere to regulatory guidelines and compliance standards. 7. Oversee the implementation of underwriting workflow, automating rules, and ensuring policy compliance.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Possess 10-15 years of experience in underwriting, credit analysis, policy drafting within the financial services sector preferably with banks / Fintechs / NBFCs operating in the space of unsecured lending and credit cards. 2. Strong understanding of financial regulations, credit risk, and industry standards, especially related to lending and underwriting. 3. Strong problem-solving skills to adapt to changing market conditions and optimise credit policies. 4. Strong people management and leadership skills. 5. Results-oriented, data-driven and self-motivated.
