Inviting applications for the role of Business Analyst - Transportation Planner

The Transportation Planner occupies a pivotal role in the execution of transportation plans and strategies. You are directly responsible for the transportation order, shipment delivery to the customer, load optimization, shipment tendering, routing guide compliance, and shipment plan/carrier service execution, and track & trace functions. You must work effectively across all CS&L functions, and cooperatively with numerous service providers, to ensure timely pick-up/delivery of Finished Goods shipments within the client&rsquos varied ANZ network. The ideal candidate is ready to get into the weeds and work hard to drive results while honing their skillset and developing efficiencies in the daily task load. This is very much an operations role that allows the ideal candidate to showcase communications skills, time management, relationship development, and problem resolution to make their desk their own.

Responsibilities


Financial Management

. Support Administration Officer with invoice processing and dispute resolution follow up.

. Review invoices to ensure correct charges are applied.

. Vendors follow up on invoice dispute and resolution.

Transaction Processing

. Ensure all local authorities, ports and freight forwarders have the relevant documentation for customs clearance.

. Contact and follow up on the exporter for all supporting documentation (i.e., bill of landing, quarantine declaration, health cert, commercial invoice, pack list, temperature declaration).

. Ensure all checks and holds are cleared (i.e., MPI clearance checks, credit holds, tracking 01/172 MPI inspection on applicable products, etc.).

. Organize transships or local transport from the port of entry to its local destination. Follow up to ensure avoidance of detention and demurrage charges.

. Coordinate all sea freight shipments (imports/exports), ensuring that all required bookings are in place with the relevant third parties involved.

. Organized air freight shipments were required on an ad-hoc basis.

. Organize sea freight quotes where necessary for either spot requests or new lanes requests.

Reporting

. Track shipments from origin through to port of entry while monitoring ETAs were required.

Communication

. Carrier management: manage relationship, metrics, and operational matters with all key vendors (sea freight carriers, air freight carriers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and warehouse - both internal and 3PL).

. Liaise with AU/NZ Export Documentation team to ensure all shipping documentation is processed and released in full and on time.

. Collaborate with S&OP (Planners), Manufacturing (Schedulers) and Procurement to ensure orders are placed and processed correctly as well as making sure all shipping documentation is received on time.

. Communicate with both internal and external transport and warehouse teams to inform of incoming freight and ensure unloading/devanning time.

. Hold relationships with external authorities such as government agencies and support external audits.

. Prioritize the work, proactively manage stake holders.

. Able to provide recommendation on Invoice dispute due to incorrect charge, changes to network layout whenever necessary.

Qualifications we seek in you!


Minimum Qualifications


. Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Business, or related field

. Experience in Transportation (carrier experience preferred), Logistics, Demand/Supply Planning, Deployment/Replenishment Planning, or similar supply chain-related functions.

. Strong Communication in English- both oral and written skills. Ability to communicate efficiency with all levels of management and peers, both internally and externally

. Self-motivated and independent personality with strong negotiation & problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills


. Previous TMS, WMS experience, Basic ERP system experience.

. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (esp. Excel / PowerPoint)

. International Shipping knowledge required.

. Ability to work principally with minimum supervision, problem solve independently.

. Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills.

. Worked in a high-volume transaction environment.

. Ability to work well in a team environment.

. Able to meet deadlines consistently.

. Sound knowledge of financial and operational decisions around freight management.
