At Laerdal Medical we are working towards achieving our goal of helping save one million lives by 2030. To achieve our ambitious targets, we are ramping up our digital product development effort and establishing a solid technical foundation that allows for rapid prototyping and faster development speed. To join us on our mission, we are looking for a Sr Director of Engineering with both hands-on and management experience. Our global Product & Technology organization spans offices in six locations: Stavanger, Oslo, Copenhagen, Washington DC, Gatesville TX, Bangalore and Suzhou and includes 600+ motivated and skilled product managers, UX designers, hardware- and software engineers. You will be working together with your Product counterpart on building a content delivery platform for our Alliance initiatives. The existing code is built in a monolithic fashion with organizational boundaries between development, quality assurance, production and bug fixing. Going forward, we are going to embrace YBYR – You build it, You run it. This is a transformational change that will be both extremely challenging and rewarding: It will require us to step up as a team on many accounts – including how we work with our millions of users and how we work together. This is not your first management role, and the role will require a combination of technical- and people skills. Together with your Product counterpart, take an end-to-end responsbility for the technical delivery of the Alliance Initiatives Contribute to overall software and infrastructure strategy with deep focus on developer velocity Help prioritize between short term gains versus long term sustainability and technical quality Ensure that the delivery organization has the right competencies within security, development, operations and security Own the technical strategy and roadmap for all Alliance initiatives Strong People leader with demonstrated leadership skills. Solid technical background, including UNIX/Linux, Networking, Streaming, Public Cloud, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML, Data and Analytics Strong communication skills with demonstrated international experience Experience working in highly regulated industries
