About CheQ
CheQ is a Bengaluru-based fintech startup that helps customers understand, manage, and leverage credit. With a focus on making the experience fun and rewarding, CheQ allows users to pay credit card bills and loan EMIs on a single platform while earning 1% back as CheQ Chips.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
As an Engineering Manager, you're required to have 8+ years of experience, and your primary responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining robust and scalable web applications using JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, especially ReactJS, for frontend development.
- Developing RESTful web services using NodeJS for backend implementation.
- Writing batch and cron jobs using Python and Shell scripting for automation purposes.
- Managing team members and ensuring smooth coordination across one or multiple pods, with a team size of 15 or more.
- Utilizing DevOps practices to facilitate efficient product build, deployment, and testing throughout all release cycles.
- Contributing to the development of innovative solutions from ideation to production, with a focus on problem-solving capabilities.
Having the following skills is an added bonus:
- Familiarity with JS-based build/package tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Bower, Webpack, and NPM.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
The following previous experiences would be looked into:
- Previous experience in a fast-growing fintech company or familiarity with the dynamics of credit/payments in e-commerce.
- Demonstrated ability in hands-on frontend, middle-tier, and backend programming.
- Experience scaling existing businesses (1-10 journey) or building new verticals from the ground up (0-1 journey).
- Ability to contribute ideas and build products from ideation to production.
- Comfortable engaging in cross-functional work and collaborating with product and design counterparts.
