About the role…. Designs and operationalizes various kinds of end-to-end tools which makes Data Scientists more productive. Ensures all our solutions are scalable and improves the performance of existing algorithms. Improves existing data models, data pipelines and implementing new techniques to solve supply chain problems. Creates and maintains libraries used by the whole organization, including Data Scientists Ensures our libraries integrate seamlessly with the o9 Platform. What you will do……. Distributed Compute and Storage Write PySpark code, debug Spark errors, perform Root Cause Analysis and suggest solutions/workarounds. Familiarity with Spark settings and changes needed to reduce run time. Modify data storage and read/write architecture of existing distributed workloads to optimize the runtime. Work with big data constructs such as Spark, HDFS, HIVE, DeltaLake and apply to o9 needs. Work with containers and K8, Cloud constructs like S3 and large VM clusters to support Demand Planning workloads. Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) Understanding of continuous integration pipelines and release lifecycle as it applies to Python libraries. Understand and enforce best practices on how python packages are maintained and released. Follow and enforce best practices for code that is performant and scalable. Utilize software development lifecycle processes including Agile Methodologies (Azure DevOps experience is a plus). Understands data science workflows from orchestration perspective (including dependencies). Mentoring and Training Package, document and create training content with active demonstrations and iterative workshops with the broader implementation and customer teams. Educate cross functional teams during the product life cycle. Coach and ramp up team members to become independent contributors. Product Participate in the process of collecting and understanding business / technical requirements with external (customers) and internal teams. Work with Architects to translate business requirements to functional specifications and use cases and work with them to implement such features in the Demand Planning Product. Help the team to improve platform capabilities. What you will have…. Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field. 2 to 6 years of experience in the field of Data Engineering Strong programming skills and experience in using Python Strong analytical techniques, data mining knowledge and proficiency in handling and processing large amounts of data is needed Experience with distributed system/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, PySpark, HDFS, Delta Lake or related Big Data technologies. Experience with SQL databases and ETL tools or similar. Utilizing software development lifecycle processes including Agile Methodologies, including proficiency with Git. Strong presentation and communications skills. Nice to have : Master’s degree in computer science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations, or related field 4+ years of experience in the field of Data Engineering Experience in deploying containerized models using tools such as Docker or Kubernetes. Actively maintained GitHub (or equivalent) or OSS contributions or similar. Understanding of Supply Chain & Demand Forecasting concepts will be preferable. Understanding of Data Structures and software architecture. Exposure to automated tools like Airflow, SSIS etc. is preferred.
