As a Principal Planning Engineer at Tecnimont, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all planning and scheduling activities to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities - Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain project master schedules in accordance with client requirements and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to establish project baseline schedules and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct periodic schedule performance analyses, identify delays or variances, and propose mitigation measures to ensure project timelines are met.
- Ensure accurate integration of all project activities, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Resource Allocation:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify resource requirements for each project phase.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure availability and allocation of resources to meet project demands.
- Optimize resource utilization to enhance productivity and efficiency across multiple projects.
- Risk Assessment and Analysis:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Regularly update risk registers and incorporate risk assessment findings into project planning and scheduling.
- Analyze schedule impacts resulting from risk events and propose necessary adjustments to project plans.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare comprehensive project progress reports, including critical path analysis, resource utilization, and key project milestones.
- Communicate project status, schedule updates, and risks to project stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Ensure all project-related documentation, such as project schedules, dashboards, and progress charts, are accurate and up-to-date.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance planning and scheduling processes, tools, and techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce project timelines, and improve overall project performance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planning engineers, encouraging their growth and development within the organization.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in the EPC industry.
- Proficiency in using project management software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of project planning principles, scheduling techniques, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience working in multinational and multicultural environments is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
