Job description

Key Responsibilities:

This position is to strengthen the organisation's external communication and visibility using multiple media, manage relationships with existing donors and expand donor base. The position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive team to enhance the visibility of organisation's work and bring-out real life stories on the impact of our work on women's lives. It also includes identifying opportunities to present our work among donors, NGOs, partners, Govt. and other stakeholders. FRHS India is currently managing the secretariat of Pratigya- Campaign for Gender Equality and Safe Abortion. The manager will act as a focal point and coordinator for the secretariat and for all other advocacy programmes. S/he is responsible for managing the secretariat, and managing the grant to achieve the deliverables within timelines. Donor liaising, reporting is an integral part of the job.

 

External Communication (20%)

 

· Managing all external communication needs of FRHS India; maintaining website and digital presence; maintaining and refreshing database of organizations and individual stakeholders; developing communication materials required – news update; mailers; printed materials

· Support CEO and Executive Team in organizational representations including – drafting of presentations; talking points etc.

· Manage social media campaigns, accounts, websites, newsletters, media relations etc.

· Document stories, case studies, photos

 

Donor Relations Management (20%)

 

· Managing relationship with existing donors including timely submission of program progress reports complying with FRHS India and MSI standards and donor requirements. Maintain a donor reporting tracker and engage with other teams like State teams; Operations; Finance and Monitoring and evaluation to ensure that information and indicators for donor reports are compiled and available for effective reporting.

· Support development of templates for collection, monitoring and analysis of data meant for reports and manage the same.

· Act as an interface with the existing/ new donors to address their program related queries, facilitate field visits and enhance their interest in project activities by using various information tools.

· Research and establish linkages with potential donors/corporates and develop materials/factsheets/products and engage with them

· Supports External Relations and Partnership building including representing FRHSI at External forums.

· Donor reporting at regular intervals and presentations

 

Outreach & influencing (20%)

 

· Develop and utilize advocacy channels for the organization to achieve relevant advocacy objectives;

· Build partnerships and coordinate work with other networks and allies in the field of health in India.

· Develop and maintain clear lines of communication with advocates and key stakeholders internationally and use this to inform our work;

· Manage relationships and communication with international institutions and partner networks;

· Develop policy positions and other useful resources concerning the advocacy objectives;

 

Pratigya Secretariat (30%)

 

· Manage the overall functioning of Pratigya Secretariat with support from the CEO and Manager RME, which includes convening CAG meetings, conducting advocacy meetings, managing sub grants under the project and ensuring regular communications with the partners, etc.

 

Fundraising (10%)

Shall be responsible for institutional fundraising, work closely with CEO and SMT and raise funds for advocacy and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

· Graduate/ post graduates with mass communication and or public policy

· 7-10 years' demonstrated experience in managing and implementing communication activities, proposal writing, business development and managing multi-partner/ donor relationships.

· Experience writing, editing and proof reading messages for targeted audiences.

· Very good spoken and written English skills

· BDS and MPH should not apply

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Fast learner with ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task and meet deadlines.

· Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English and Hindi.

· Strong computer skills with expertise in using MS office, Internet, social media and other communication tools.

· Design tools like Canva, Multimedia etc.
