OEL operates in two segments, Electrical Consumer Durables (ECD) and Lighting and Switchgear segments (L&S). It offers ceiling, portable, wall, lifestyle, stand, table, exhaust, and multi-utility fans, as well as related components and accessories; and home appliances, such as air coolers, room and water heaters, oil-filled radiators, heat convectors, dry irons, mixer grinders, juicer mixer grinders, wet grinders, electric kettles and electric hand mixers. The Company also provides lighting products comprising LED bulbs and luminaires, LED lamps and tubes, professional lighting products, conventional fittings; and switchgear, including miniature and residual current circuit breakers, distribution boards, isolators, and modular switches and plates, as well as wiring accessories.

Retail presence : Orient Electric has an entrenched and extensive sales, distribution, and service network with pan-India coverage. In addition to India, the Company enjoys a market presence across 26 countries. It is the largest exporter of fans in the country.
Job Responsibilities
- Procurement strategy execution
Ø Drive sourcing strategy for commodities & Bought-out items ensuring best practice purchasing in terms of cost, quality and efficiency
Ø Leverage cross BU spend pool synergies in obtaining lower costs and favorable terms of delivery
Ø Develop & execute cost reduction plans for each of the commodities
Ø Consolidate cross BU commodity & Bought out item suppliers across categories while maintaining sourcing flexibility
Ø Prepare and drive new vendor identification basis cost, process innovation and volume requirements
Ø Gather commodity market knowledge and identify market trends and opportunities like inputs on hedging of commodities to Finance
Ø Digitization of procurement processes
Ø Optimize costs while meeting engineering and product requirements for both current products and new launches
Ø Work on zero base costing
Ø Lead the team to drive procurement strategy and vendor management programs
Qualifications And Skills Ø Assigning responsibilities and overviewing the team performance
- Robust understanding of procurement process
- Strong analytical skills, with a natural flair to identify the relevant business insights & gather market intelligence
- Highly numerate and proactive to drive initiatives
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with different departments
- MBA from Tier 1 Institute
