Hybrid Working

Introduction - A key member of the Global Corporate Team developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of MNCs across India based in Mumbai
- Responsible for creating a significant market presence for the Bank across Multinational Corporates primarily covering West India, including raising the profile of Barclays
- Develop new business, retain and manage a portfolio of clients, develop strong, long-term relationships in the Corporate Banking segment. The jobholder will operate in a dynamic and highly competitive marketplace.
- There will be a strong emphasis to identify and drive business development – both in terms of new business with existing customers as well as new customers
- The prime objective is to maximise sustainable Revenue growth coming through conquest income and effective X Sell of all corporate & investment products
What will you be doing - Client Coverage & Relationship Management - 70%
- Primary point of contact within the Bank for your portfolio customers - CEO, Finance Director, Treasurer etc, on strategic financial advice/business risk/credit issues-as appropriate.
- Strong relationship contact within Barclays global network points for efficient closure of overseas Transactions. Develop global relationships with Country Relationship Leads to drive transactions.
- Responsible for delivering a consultancy based approach to the customer through use of the wider group capability and selling the Barclays Corporate and Investment Bank product suite. Achieve a high degree of cross sell
- Regular meetings with customers to monitor changing circumstances /plans /opportunities, together with ad hoc meetings as required. Communicating all key messages concerning relationships, to others as appropriate.
- Within scheduled meetings undertake Risk Review as required
- Use feedback gained on Product /Service offerings to inform / identify and contribute to the development of distinctive service/product offerings, which would be appropriate to the industry.
- Sell complex solutions using a diagnostic approach. This will require the jobholder to have an in-depth understanding of customer needs and to take a holistic view of the customers' business.
- Research, create and follow up a defined target list for potential new business, taking an industry sector focus as agreed with the CB Head
- Arrange and undertake product presentations alongwith product partners where appropriate, including updation of salesforce, outputs from pricing tools
- Generate and monitor leads and update leads tracking system e.g. Salesforce. Co-ordinate information for your portfolio.
- Provide day to day service provision for a portfolio of customers
- Responsible for the timely submission of reviews and subsequent coordination with Credit/RCU
- Research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business
- Business Management - 20%
- Develop high quality credit solutions which are both practical and appropriate i.e. lending structures for customer.
- Make recommendation to the Sanctioner for all applications outside personal discretion.
- Manage Early Warning List customers and credit escalations to reduce credit risk in accordance with credit guidance.
- Make customer visits to obtain KYC documentation for on-boarding the clients
- Ensure any credit escalations are duly addressed timely
- Staff Management - 10%
- Attend Corporate Relationship Team meetings and contribute fully, including suggestions for ways of improving customer service.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to environment of mutual support by sharing knowledge with other team members
- Proactively sharing market knowledge and skills. Proactively manage input to performance management reviews.
What We're Looking For - Post Graduate MBA or Chartered Accountant with extensive corporate banking experience of minimum 10 years working in banking environment with a portfolio of Multinational Corporates
- Knowledge of the Bank's products, services and policies across corporate and investment bank required to undertake the role. Keep track of local market, regulatory changes and key players.
- Detailed knowledge and appreciation of income and growth drivers.
- Appreciation of Investment Banking products and markets and fit with CB products.
Skills That Will Help You In The Role - Working closely with cross-border teams across product, coverage and infrastructure
- Credit risk management expertise
- Local market knowledge and key players.
- Comprehensive understanding of the impact of economic environment on customer's needs and business.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory risk policies and procedures relating to credit conformance and regulatory, operational and legal risk.
- Prior relationship management experience in C&IB will be a key preference
- Ability to network effectively both internally and externally is seen as crucial if the jobholder is to be successful in this role. This will include maintaining and developing relationships with product and infrastructure specialists
- The jobholder should have broad business and sales experience building and managing relationships at a senior level i.e. MD, Finance Director, Treasurer within a customer base segmented from the Global Corporates segment
