Overview
The role of a Blacksmith & Welding Tech is crucial in our organization as it requires expertise in crafting and repairing metal products through forging welding and metal fabrication processes. The Blacksmith & Welding Tech is responsible for ensuring that our metal products are of the highest quality and meet our clients specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing blacksmithing and forging tasks to create and repair metal products
- Operating and maintaining welding equipment
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Using hand and power tools to shape and assemble metal components
- Applying appropriate welding techniques to join cut and fabricate metal pieces
- Inspecting finished products for quality and precision
- Collaborating with design and engineering teams to understand project requirements
- Ensuring safety and cleanliness in the workshop
- Managing inventory of metal materials and tools
- Providing guidance and training to apprentices and junior staff
- Communicating effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on equipment
- Adhering to all safety guidelines and best practices
- Continuously improving techniques and skills through professional development
- Meeting production deadlines and project timelines
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a blacksmith or welding technician
- Proficiency in using various welding techniques such as MIG TIG and stick welding
- Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and blueprints
- Expertise in operating blacksmithing and forging tools and equipment
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Excellent handeye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to tasks
- Certifications in welding and metalworking are a plus
