Job Description

The Senior Program Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the program towards success, harmonizing multiple project endeavors to create goal-oriented opportunities that resonate with Expeditors' strategic plan and vision. This key position entails managing an array of projects, ensuring their strategic alignment with the program's goals. The role encompasses overseeing and directing strategic partnerships, articulating program milestones for the involved projects, and ensuring project teams adhere to the objectives vital to the program's success. Additionally, this position is crucial in resolving conflicts and issues to fulfill the program's objectives.

In a collaborative capacity, this role engages with various departments and portfolios within the Global Service Center (GSC), aligning goals and mitigating risks through proactive solution recommendations that support the program's overarching objectives. The role involves working closely with executives and teams from both Expeditors and partnering entities, grasping technical and milestone specifics while maintaining an overarching view, and offering continual support to teams for achieving success. Effective communication with leadership stakeholders is essential, alongside skills in escalating and resolving obstacles, managing risk, and fostering continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director - IS Global Service Center, this role collaborates with Portfolio leaders and diverse stakeholders across the organization, reinforcing a cohesive and strategic approach to achieving programmatic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead program planning to achieve GSC-aligned goals with clear, measurable impact.
  • Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with key business stakeholders.
  • Work in unison with Portfolio leaders, ensuring mutual accountability and alignment.
  • Champion and articulate the Global IS vision and strategy effectively.
  • Implement and uphold Process and Technology Architecture, including Lean, Agile, and SAFe methodologies.
  • Collaborate to maintain and enhance the security, availability, and performance of Portfolio systems.
  • Execute IS/GSC initiatives to yield real business value and results.
  • Drive and measure continuous improvement within IS operational activities.
  • Oversee GSC-related risk management, provider relationships, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with tech experts to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Effectively communicate program details to a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrate fluency in business processes and practices.
  • Foster a dynamic, healthy team culture that reflects Expeditor's values.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Process and Project management.
  • Coordinate program planning across multiple interconnected objectives.
  • Mentor and guide others in effective program management techniques.
  • Collaborate across departments to manage dependencies, enhance capabilities, and improve customer and partner experiences.
  • Develop metrics for and lead operational improvements.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Over 15 years of experience in Program Management and related fields.
  • Skilled in driving technical strategic partnerships with a proven track record of stakeholder and partner engagement.
  • Technically adept with strong communication abilities.
  • Well-versed in Project/ Program Management, Agile way of working
  • Demonstrates a passion for leadership, inspiration, facilitation, and effective communication.
  • Assertive, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven success in managing complex and large-scale programs/projects.
  • Proficient in facilitating meetings and coordinating large groups.
  • Capable of coaching and mentoring team members effectively.
  • Contributes to and fosters a healthy, dynamic, and collaborative team culture in line with Expeditor's values.
  • Personal and professional ethos aligned with Expeditor's culture and key success factors.
  • Exhibits strong leadership, financial acumen, communication skills, and execution capabilities.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and facilitation communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of Information Services in the context of project management.
  • Self-motivated and adept at working in ambiguous environments, maintaining focus on collective goals.

Desired Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Certifications ( PMP, PgMP etc..,) or relevant working experience
  • Any Agile Certification (E.G. SAFe ) or working experience
