Job Description
Role purpose
- Planning and Managing the end to end inhouse virus testing.
- Manage the third party test services and ensure to capture the result in SAP.
- Managing the third party employees.
- Procurement of chemicals, reagents, people.
- Ensure Execution of test as per SOP.
- Analysing the data points & Ensure timely result entry in SAP.
- Monitor the relevant KPI on monthly basis.
- Track the chemical & consumable Inventory.
- Report deviations from the standard methods.
- Maintaining lab supplies and vendor management.
- Ensure all test equipment calibrations, validations & annual maintenance as per schedule.
- Network with global test development team performing the ring test/ validation in implementation of new test protocols.
- Communication & Internal Stakeholder Management.
- Review the SOP periodically and ensure to upload it in ETQ.
Accountabilities
- Ensure consistency in test results, result analysis and reporting as per lead time.
- Deviation Management and to conduct proper Root Cause Analysis.
- Communication with inter and intra departments.
- Maintaining records as per guidelines
- HSE & Compliance
- Implementation of new seed health tests
Working Condition/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sample collection in the fields/ Frequent travel to other locations & strict adherence to Syngenta HSE & COC compliance ways of working.
- Ensuring safe handling of chemicals in the lab
- Working with the third-party laboratories
Qualifications
- Post Graduation in Agriculture/ Life Sciences is preferred
- 4-5 years of experience in the relevant field is preferred
- Knowledge of Seed pathology, plant pathology & Seed testing
- Good Knowledge of ELISA testing (Preparation of buffers, sample preparation, sample loading in to ELISA plates, Data analysis etc.), DNA/ RNA extraction methods, RT PCR, PCR Data Analysis.
- Good knowledge of seed health testing
- Computer skills (Excel, word, Power point etc.)
- Basic knowledge of SAP
- Communication, Analytical skill
Critical experience
- Experience in conducting the ELISA & Bioassay test
- Experience in RT PCR
- Experience in data analysis
- Experience in reporting
- Experience in test cost estimation
- Reporting KPI’s
