Job description
You are responsible for
- Produces and reviews estimates of time to be spend on technical documentation as input to the overall cost estimation of the project.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain in-depth technical documents, such as software and systems engineering, system operations, user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, etc.
- Assures an in-depth understanding of the DN portfolio and documentation requirements.
- Autonomously produces high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Evaluates training needs and requests and assures proper training materials are produced and maintained.
- Conducts technical product trainings for internal teams and customers.
- Creates and maintains the information architecture and master data.
- Contribute to writing styles and standards, including participating in peer editing.
- Acts as single point of contact for internal teams regarding additional requests, evaluates and dispatches the work.
- Creates documentation and collaterals for complex requests.
- Organizes best practice sharing and implements new processes, formats and guidelines.
Qualifications
- At minimum, an associate's degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or Engineering with a background or training in computer science.
- Experience working with the following tools: Confluence/JIRA, Git & Github, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python.
- A minimum of three to four years of experience as a technical writer producing technical product documents for software.
- Strong written and verbal communications and experience in structured authoring and information modeling concepts.
- Very strong analytical skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
- Experience in working in cross-functional, cross-geography product/content development setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Journalism, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Writing, Curriculum Development or the equivalent in professional experience.
- SaaS experience.
- Familiarity with API documentation for REST or .NET APIs.
- Proven document organizing and structuring capabilities for writing technical documents, such as, Installation guides, Configuration guides, and API documents, etc. Should have thorough knowledge of technical writing concepts
- Ability to comprehend technical concepts with experience in creating end-user and system-level documentation for complex systems
- Proficiency in conducting technical interviews and drawing out information relevant for end users
- Thorough understanding of the Document Development Life cycle (DDLC) with respect to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
