Engineer - Engine Control systems & Development

As a engineer you will support projects involving engine system controls development, maintenance and validation of strategies intended for production implementation on engine applications. You will be executing Controls, Simulation and development projects for Gas and Diesel (optional) platforms with deep collaboration with US and India team members. To function as an engineer to execute controls development you will bring engine performance understanding and controls interactions and be comfortable in utilizing Matlab/Simulink, and dSPACE bench.

Responsibilities

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop control system architecture for modularity and re-use
  • Experience w/ all levels of embedded S/W development & S/W build processes
  • Own controls development and calibrations for gas engine systems
  • Map and tune development/ownership
  • Strategy validation
  • Perform simulation work (SIL/HIL), controls development diagnostic testing.
  • Post calibration performance testing and script automation for field/app cycle evaluation
  • Conduct controls model tuning and stability analysis
  • Mentor and develop other engineers in the team

Background Experience Desired Include

  • Experience in Dynasty, Matlab/Simulink, Vector CANape, GIT, Azure DEVOps, Co-simulation, and their applications in Diesel/SI engines
  • Experience in executing and leading Controls, Simulation and development projects for Gas and Diesel platforms
  • Experience and knowledge with control theory and modeling of dynamic systems using both physics based white box modeling and black box modeling using system identification techniques in time and frequency domain.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and have an extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications.
  • Requires strong technical leadership skills who has the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/Automobile/Aerospace Engineering,
  • Overall experience of 5 to 10 years in Engine performance and control systems development
  • 2+ years of experience developing engine control systems for Gas and diesel platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to perform complex assignments.
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of Python/VBA to automate tasks
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced, technically challenging environment
  • Very good communicator (Peer to peer, Customer, Stakeholder, etc.)

Additional Desired Expectations

  • Masters degree in an accredited Indian or Global Engineering schools
  • Proficiency with engine rating development
