Job description

Purpose of this Role Design, develop, maintain and test electrical devices and equipment, including communications systems, power generators, motors and navigation systems across the plant

To perform regular tests to new and existing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, both to spot potential problems and to ensure that systems are operating at their highest possible levels of functionality.

Responsibilities of this role

1. Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations
2. Provide prompt response to inquiries whenever there is a breakdown, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible
3. Ensure that equipments are in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities
4. Installation of fresh electrical components and fittings
5. Recommend replacement for old or faulty electrical components or fittings to the management
6. Assist in forecasting requirements, creating a budget and scheduling expenses for the electrical department
7. Keep record of all stock and supplies, including company s electrical equipment
8. Working in collaboration with the production team to formulate the best cost-effective manufacturing process
9. Perform energy audit and recommend alternative sources of energy, Help the organization to reduce energy costs
10 Ensure that all electrical gadgets and instruments are switched off after close of work daily
11. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventive maintenance services
12. Learn new skills and attend training programs in other to increase knowledge of trends and best practices in the industry
13. Provide safe working environment for members of staff, and ensure electricity induced accidents and mishaps are prevented
14. Purchase electrical fittings and components or supervise the staff charged with the responsibility
15. Supervise electrical works when new projects are undertaken
16. Support the company in increasing profitability by managing resources efficiently and making necessary recommendations.

Qualification Required

Years of experience Required for this role Minimum Exp. : 2-4 years Desirable Exp. :2 years or more

Type of Experience required for this role Adept at adjusting work pace to accommodate emergencies or changing client needs. Supervise electrician work on round-the-clock manufacturing unit. Provide all required electrical system technical support. Coordinate with production department on project progress.

Competencies required for this role

Knowledge Knowledge on Electrical circuits, Pnumatic circuits, Wiring, Labling and coding of electrical systems and circuit diagraming reading.

Skill Technical/Functional: PLC, Matlab, pnumatic circuits, automations Soft: Presentation skills, Communication skills, computer skills, Working knowledge of PLC programming
