Job Description : 'Organisation Background: Solution Architects (SA) are responsible for delivering solution designs to projects. Key objectives are: fit for purpose, the right portfolio fit, technical integrity, right TCO (total cost of ownership) through its life cycle and a good fit with the IT technology direction of Shell. The resultant High Level Design have a measurable impact on the effectiveness and profitability of Shell. Responsibilities include: 1. Provide solution architecture development, consultancy and assurance to projects, making sure applications are well designed and conform to Shell standards and reference/segment architectures. The Solution Architect is accountable to the Project Manager for the architecture of a solution being developed and implemented until the successful deployment of the solution. This includes: a) Being the point of call for all architecture aspects of an IT Project (in line with Project Delivery Framework). b) Being able to address the: Business Process, Data, Application, Technical and Information Security aspects of an IT Solution and to document that in a SAHLD (Solution Architecture High Level Design document). Develop this information or else receive this from other parties involved (Data Architects, Technology Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Information Risk Management (IRM), IT Services and Operations, Enterprise Technology Service Operation Management etc) c) Ensure project's solution architecture is documented using the templates, BiZZdesign/Archimate tooling and conforms to standards (incl IRM, Target Operating Environment (TOE), etc) and utilizes the available reference models d) Actively work to identify, communicate, mitigate and resolve architecture issues and risks. In case solutions cannot be 100% compliant with standards proactively seek input from the relevant function in order to obtain step-out approval e) Coach detailed designers and business analysts (etc) in projects during their design work. f) Reviewing and accepting the detailed design of an IT solution and related testing plan. In case changes are required to existing solutions, seek functional (re)approval as needed and ensure solution architecture and other documentation is updated to reflect the changes g) Support Segment Architects and reviews through the Architecture Review Board as required. h) Take an active role in documenting, improving & ever greening the models in BiZZdesign, lifting projects deliverables to the Conceptual and Logical levels, working with the Business and other relevant Subject Matter Experts. i) Stay in touch with IT Technology developments in the market and leverage this knowledge in architecting solutions in Shell. Ensure solutions are 'future-proof' j) Stay in touch with development of standards and standard services in IT at Shell. To ensure the latest service developments are taken into account Qualifications: 1. Applicants must have at least 6 years experience in roles where they held similar accountabilities to those listed above to develop solution architecture designs preferably demonstrate experience with 'enterprise scale' solutions 3. Experience with at least one of the Enterprise Automation technology: Blueprism, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate and Power Automate Desktop), certificates will be an additional advantage 4. Strong experience on designing the enterprise platforms for Robotic Process Automation landscape, knowledge of the policies and patterns that apply to the inftrastrcure of of RPA like VMs, App Servers and the Database 6. Relevant experience of best practices in modern software development lifecycle processes and automation ideally experience of GitHub platform services 7. Experience with one or more architecture modeling tools (archimate preferred) '
