Job description
Whom we are looking for:
Wildlife Trust of India is seeking two qualified Sociologists to conduct a comprehensive 6-month study on the local community's perception of human-wildlife conflict in the Wayanad landscape for the Wayanad Conflict Mitigation Project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in understanding and analysing social dynamics, community attitudes, and cultural influences on human-wildlife interactions in the region.
Qualification and skills:
Broad responsibilities include:
Conduct interviews and surveys to gather primary data.
Employ qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather the primary data.
Analyse collected data to identify key sociological factors contributing to human-wildlife conflict.
Demonstrate proficiency in Malayalam to effectively communicate with local communities.
Translate and transcribe interviews and discussions as necessary.
Assist the team in preparing the report on the study's findings, including statistical analysis and qualitative insights.
Contract Terms:
The selected candidate will be engaged on a contractual basis for a period of 6 months.
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
