About The Role

Role Title: Data Science Manager

Location: Hyderabad

About the Role:

The Data Science Manager is the data delivery lead for usage of data driven approaches, algorithms and technologies at all levels of the organization and will ensure consistency and alignment of the use of KPIs in the organization of 4k+ resources. Translating the business needs into data science using the KPI framework and lead indicators for over 400 trials in the system across multiple functional areas and applications/systems. The Senior Data Scientist will be provide best practice recommendations on usage of data science, AI/ML approaches in decision making for the GCO line functions as well as across functions.

  • Being the data translator for the GCO functional and organization analytical needs, the Data Science Manager applies data science techniques and tools to help build and maintain actionable KPIs, KRIs and lead indicators for GCO functions
  • Develops automation for repeatedly refreshing analysis and generates insights across the various decision support systems available in GCO technology landscape to improve efficiency and simplification
  • Proactively evaluates the need of data visualization tools and technical approaches for computation using agile methodology to create Analytical Proof of Concepts (PoC)
  • Advancing automation & usage of data science tools and technologies to enable faster decision making to reduce cycle time by 50%, maintaining high levels of quality and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of end-to-end base of technical and futuristic abilities within the Business Intelligence team to efficiently deliver the analytics solutions for GCO
  • Explores different algorithms, technologies and tools for creating dashboards and analytical solutions for the assigned function (PSP, SSO, CDO, VPG, PTC. Risk & Resilience etc.)
  • Acts as a technical translator for GCO decision support systems such as SENSE, FPO etc. for the business needs
  • Plans proactively, anticipates and actively manages change, sets stakeholder expectations as required, identifies operational risks and independently drives issues to resolution, balances multiple priorities and minimizes surprise escalations
  • On-demand analytics and professional ad hoc reporting services
  • Proactively raises alerts based on data driven analysis to identify and highlight trends and patterns
  • Leveraging and recommending the tight platforms for integration technically for decisions in the GDD analytics technology landscape in partnership with IT.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:

Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelor's in Engineering or technology related discipline

Languages: Fluent English (oral and written)

Experience/Professional requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in technically delivery of analytics solutions
  • Strategic thinker with proven track record in translating business objectives into analytical recommendations, key performance indicators and lead indicators
  • Strong in application of data science approaches to business problems and tools and technologies using machine learning and artificial intelligence e.g, Python, R, Qliksense, Big Data technologies, AWS, Azure etc.
  • Strong in data science and Machine Learning algorithms (e.g. forecasting, simulation, and optimization techniques)
  • Experience with visualization software / tools to create Dynamic Dashboards using Qlik Sense/Spotfire/ R/Python
  • Ability to architect and drive data strategy working on both structured and unstructured data sets
  • Proven track record in analytics solutions for a variety of problem statements, using best of breed approaches in data science
  • Ability to influence without authority and successfully manage senior level stakeholders
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills - allowing effective interactions with all levels of the organization; able to present information confidently and effectively to leadership, peers and team
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well organized and results-focused - ability to meet difficult timelines in a dynamic environment
