Job Description and Qualifications:

The Server Engineer will be responsible for enabling the organization to successfully execute Air Product’s Cloud Linux-based hosting strategy working with a global team. Through an iterative and collaborative approach, they will architect and build the cloud-based Linux hosting solutions and related processes that empower and enable product teams to deliver their applications.
Position Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Evaluate, recommend, provision, and operationalize technologies/architectures for hosting, managing, and operating Air Products business applications and services based on Docker containers.
- Understand organizational needs and use cases for Linux-based applications.
- Consider fit-for-purpose, performance, reliability, security, and cost of potential services and solutions.
- Operate fully automated workflows using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud provisioning.
- Consult and advise efforts to migrate workloads from traditional datacenter hosting to cloud hosting.
- Design and implement automated solutions for routine work.
- Participate in Agile and waterfall processes to execute work.
- Gather and clarify requirements.
- Create and update documentation for IT and end user consumption.
- Demonstrate situational leadership to capture opportunities or fix issues.
- Act with an owner-mindset for the services you will manage.
- Be hard working and demonstrate a desire for continual learning.
- Quickly pivot between work efforts as situations, priorities, and dependencies change.
- Approach existing problems and solutions with enthusiasm and new and diverse ideas and approaches.

Education/Experience:
- Current Cloud certification (AWS and/or Azure)
- Deep understanding of AWS cloud, particularly around Linux-based and container-based services
- Experienced in designing and implementing Docker container solutions using one or more cloud services to meet complex business needs
- Ability to code and script automated solutions/functions
- Experienced with Infrastructure as Code
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Able to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Being comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
