We are seeking a talented 3D Character Generalist to join our clientâs game development team. As a key member of a creative force, you will be instrumental in crafting lifelike and compelling 3D character designs that enhance the realism and excitement of the games.
Responsibility
- Create high-quality 3D character models for games, ensuring authenticity
- Develop realistic textures and shading for characters, capturing the nuances of gear, apparel, and skin tones to elevate visual fidelity
- Collaborate with animators to optimize character models for realistic and fluid animations, considering the dynamic movements associated with various elements
- Implement facial animation techniques to convey emotions, expressions, and realistic reactions, enhancing the overall narrative and player immersion
- Rig and skin character models to enable smooth articulation and movement, providing a solid foundation for dynamic and authentic in-game animations
- Work closely with art directors, animators, and other team members to maintain a cohesive visual style and ensure consistency in character design
- Collaborate with technical artists to optimize character assets for in-game performance without compromising visual quality
- Conduct thorough quality checks on character assets to ensure they meet the highest standards of visual fidelity, realism, and adherence to specific details
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior artists, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
Requirement
- 2-5 Years of professional experience as a 3D Character Generalist, with a portfolio showcasing expertise in creating characters
- Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and animation software such as Maya, Blender, or equivalent
- A passion for Games and a deep understanding of the unique visual elements associated with various Games, translating that knowledge into authentic character designs
- Strong artistic skills, including a keen eye for detail, form, and an understanding of anatomy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey creative ideas and receive feedback
- Ability to troubleshoot and address artistic and technical challenges related to character modeling and animation
