Fortinet is currently seeking an experienced Technical Director of Engineering for the development of our S ecurity O rchestration A utomation and R esponse solution with a focus on cloud native architecture. FortiSOAR is our leading SecOps solution that integrates various other cybersecurity solutions to streamline and accelerate security operations.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of complex software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, scalability, and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders (particularly product management) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems.
- Develop architectural blueprints, technical design specifications, and guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks to meet project requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Define and enforce architecture principles, policies, and procedures.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes.
- Occasionally work with Customer, Support, Professional Service, and other departments to get first-hand experience of how FortiSOAR is built and consumed (Customer to Code)
- Instrumental in product road map realization
Job Skills Required:
- Proven experience (10+ years) as a Software Architect or similar role.
- 16+ years of experience in software development within a Unix/Linux environment
- Experienced in the cyber security domain.
- Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Deep exposure to cloud-native/microservices architecture
- Excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, ES Stack, NGINX and application deployment is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Capable of switching focus in various situations and applying themselves to quickly learning new technologies and adopting new methodologies
- Knowledge of SOAR/SIEM platforms, working with SOC teams will be advantage.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
