Phoenix is looking for a Mechanical Design Manager for its Research & Development team. Position: Mechanical Design Manager Location: Chennai Role Description This is a full-time on-site role in Thirumudivakkam, Chennai for a Mechanical Design Manager. The candidate will be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle from idea conception to release. Should be able to design plastic and metal components considering DFM,DFA and Cost. Expertise in Robust Modeling and Detailing practices following the ISO standard guidelines. Should be able to understand design problems and come up with creative, cost-effective and robust solutions. The candidate must be able to communicate well with cross-functional team members, be able to efficiently collaborate with team members to achieve project goals. Should be proficient in engineering calculations and analysis to improve/validate product designs on a need basis. Leading the team in terms of setting direction and next steps for the projects and establishing timelines Able to work under pressure and be able to deliver new products into the market as scheduled Should have a good understanding of different manufacturing processes and methods. Candidate Profile: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 15 years of work experience Competent at leading large teams with at least 5 years experience in a leadership position. Those having working experience in start-up organisations A solid track record of taking complex devices from conception through to launch Experience in the medical device industry is preferred, preferably an MNC Knowledgeable on regulatory standards that are used in the development of medical devices. Needs to be very strong technically with a strong understanding of GD&T, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Design and Creo. Proficiency with product design and computer-aided design (CAD) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork Strong planning and leadership skills to lead a diverse and young team.Job tags
