Title – GCP Operations Lead

Location: Remote across India (Candidate needs to travel to Hyderabad time to time)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GCP Operations Lead to join our team and take ownership of our cloud infrastructure on the GCP platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GCP services and a proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud resources to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
1. GCP Infrastructure Management:
- Design, implement, and manage the GCP infrastructure to ensure it meets the organization's operational requirements.
- Oversee the provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of GCP resources, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components.
- Monitor and respond to incidents/change requests and ensuring that the vendor teams resolve the issue as per standard operating procedure.
2. Cloud Security:
- Implement and maintain security best practices to protect the organization's data and resources on GCP.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
3. Monitoring and Optimization:
- Establish and maintain effective monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the availability and performance of GCP services.
- Continuously optimize GCP resources to minimize costs and improve efficiency while meeting performance and capacity requirements.
4. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans to ensure data and application availability in case of outages or data loss.
5. Automation:
- Implement automation and orchestration of GCP services using tools such as Google Cloud Deploy Manager, Terraform, or other automation frameworks.
6. Collaboration and Team Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineering and system administrators, to support the deployment of applications on GCP.
- Lead Vendor team. Providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of excellence.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of GCP configurations, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Generate regular reports on GCP resource utilization, performance, and security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- GCP certifications, such as Google Professional Cloud Architect, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
- Proven experience in managing GCP cloud infrastructure and services in a large-scale environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Terraform, Ansible etc.).
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus
