Job description

Job Summary: The Consultant Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients while adhering to JCI and NABH standards. The incumbent will supervise and coordinate the work of Occupational Therapists and support staff, ensuring high-quality care is delivered in a safe and patient-centered environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: · Conduct occupational therapy assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide intervention to patients with physical, cognitive, or mental disabilities. · Design and fabricate assistive devices and equipment to enable patient independence and safety. · Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. · Manage patient documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring they are completed accurately and in a timely manner. · Ensure adherence to JCI and NABH standards in all aspects of occupational therapy services, including infection control, patient safety, and quality management. · Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with occupational health and safety guidelines. · Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to occupational therapy services. · Provide leadership and supervision to Occupational Therapists and support staff, including orientation, training, and performance evaluations. · Ensure that all equipment and supplies used in the occupational therapy department are properly maintained and serviced. · Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions to keep abreast of new developments in occupational therapy practices and technology. Key Competencies: · Strong clinical and therapeutic skills in occupational therapy. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. · Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. · Leadership skills, with the ability to provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to staff. · Knowledge of JCI and NABH standards related to occupational therapy services. · Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Working Conditions: The Consultant Occupational Therapist will work in a healthcare setting, including patient care areas and rehabilitation centers. The position may require working extended hours or being on-call, as well as occasional travel to attend meetings or training sessions. The work may involve exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials, and the incumbent may need to wear protective clothing or equipment. · Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy · Valid license to practice from relevant regulatory authority · Minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational therapy, with at least 2 years in a leadership role · Experience working in a JCI and NABH accredited healthcare organization preferred
