Role Summary
WSP is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and delivery-oriented candidate for a senior leadership role within the Earth and Environment Business Line as a CAD Team Lead. Acting in liaison with the Canadian Team, the position will consist of directing, mentoring and training a team of iCRC technical CAD staff to ensure accurate, timely and quality delivery of project requirements in the fields of environmental management, environmental planning, ground engineering and mining. The ideal candidate will have extensive project experience in at least one of the above fields, preferably in Canada; current certification in digital design applications such as AutoDesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D; and be able to cultivate a team environment through leadership, mentorship, knowledge sharing and career development.
The CAD Team Lead role includes the following responsibilites:
- Build and maintain internal client relationships with the Canadian Team to coordinate project deliverables and ensure accurate, timely and quality delivery of project requirements.
- Cultivate a team environment through leadership, mentorship, knowledge sharing and career development.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert regarding digital design applications, industry best practices and client project requirements.
- Assist with proposal submissions, including scope of work, budgets and timelines.
- Drive and enforce company standards, procedures, work flows and best practices.
- Drive and enforce company quality control and assurance protocols, prior to each project submission to ensure a high standard of care.
- Help drive staff motivation, productivity and performance.
- Contribute to the technical capabilities of the iCRC team through the provision of mentorship, knowledge sharing and training.
- Provide staff performance evaluations and assist with personal improvement plans.
- Provide and support career development plans for staff to support skills development, effective succession management, career pathing and staff retention.

Mandatory Skills
- Certification or demonstrated proficiency using digital design applications: AutoDesk AutoCAD AND AutoDesk Civil 3D in relevant fields.
- Demonstrated proficiency using office applications: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
Desired Skills
- International project experience, specifically withing Canada and United States is preferred.
- BIM experience is an asset.
- Proficiency using additional digital design applications: AutoDesk Infraworks, Bentley MicroStation and InRoads, etc is an asset.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or Design Technology or equivalent in relevant field.
- A minimum of 5+ years in a leadership role.
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in providing CAD support for large multidisciplinary projects in relevant fields.
