IISc promotes interdisciplinary research and has established new centres for translational research in various areas.

Role Description ( Appointment Duration: One year)

The Human-interactive Robotics (HiRo) Lab, led by Dr. Ravi Prakash, Assistant Professor, RBCCPS at IISc,

Bangalore invites applications for Postdoctoral Researcher (RA-I). The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the intersection of Robotics, Imitation Learning, and Transfer Learning for Bi-Manual robotic manipulation with applications in space robotics, healthcare or retail.

Qualifications and Emolument :

As per the latest guidelines from the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, India.

• Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/Research Associate

Project Specific

• Prior experience working with physics engines like Gazebo, Mujoco, Isaac Gym, etc., is required.
• Prior experience working with Python and ROS is required.
• Good coding skills in Python and state-of-the-art robot learning environments (e.g., Robosuite) is required. 
• Experience with real robotic arms is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• A successful tenure will result in publication at peer-reviewed conferences and journals.

Selection Procedure:

• Candidates will be short-listed based on their eligibility criteria and relevant experience.

• Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated via e-mail for online/in-person interviews.

• The positions will be left vacant, and new advertisements with extended dates will be 

published until suitable candidates are found

• The selected candidate will be expected to start as soon as possible
