Job description
Responsibilities
- Feed Development: Collaborate with project teams to develop Front End Engineering Design (FEED) documents related to piping systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Bill of Material (BOM) Management: Prepare and maintain accurate Bill of Material (BOM) for piping components, including specifications, quantities, and procurement requirements.
- Plot Plan Development: Generate plot plans for piping systems, considering site layout, equipment arrangement, and safety regulations to optimize space utilization and facilitate efficient construction.
- Piping Design and Layout: Design and layout piping systems using CAD software, ensuring alignment with project requirements, safety guidelines, and best engineering practices.
- Material Selection: Assist in the selection of materials for piping construction, considering factors such as fluid compatibility, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders on piping-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and reviews of piping design deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and hazards associated with piping systems and propose mitigation measures to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations related to piping engineering activities, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and project milestones.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in piping engineering, and proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in piping engineering, preferably in the [mention industry/sector].
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and piping design tools.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASTM, API).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management and execution methodologies (e.g., EPC, EPCM) is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification is desirable.
