Sales executives need certain education and training to perform their duties efficiently. While a college degree is not always required a business marketing or communications degree may be preferred in some industries. Additionally sales executives may need to acquire industryspecific certifications such as a real estate license or a pharmaceutical sales certification. To succeed in their roles sales executives should have indepth knowledge of the products and services they sell; therefore training in product information is essential. They must also be skilled in presentation negotiation and communication to persuade potential clients effectively. In addition to these soft skills sales executives may also require software training to operate software such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Marketing automation software including Marketo Pardot and Hubspot which are commonly used in sales and marketing departments.
