Job description
The Junior Modeler requires the ability to read and interpret contract drawings, create templates, place members, 3D models of the structures, connections and sections. Requires knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Institute of Steel Design (NISD) standards. Experience in structural steel and architectural/miscellaneous detailing is a must.
Qualifications - Bachelor s/Diploma degree of civil or mechanical engineering is required - work experience in SDS2/Tekla may substitute as an equivalent to a Bachelor s/Diploma degree
- 1-5 years of experience in steel detailing on SDS2/Tekla is a must
- Working knowledge of AISC codes, OSHA, AWS, and other standards are a must
- Strong experience in reading and interpreting structural/architectural design drawings
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication and erection
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Basic mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
- Knowledge of welding specifications
- Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Workspace
