Executive Director Reports to: The Board Location: Delhi

CHILDREN a charitable society, registered in West Bengal but working in both North-West Delhi and Kolkata, is looking to hire a dynamic and results-oriented Leader.

Rooted in the belief that empowering children and youth is key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty, CHILDREN’s approach transcends mere poverty alleviation. They concentrate on four critical development areas: health, education, life skills, and job readiness. At CHILDREN, every team member plays a crucial role in impacting the lives of children and youth, driving change in the communities they serve.

Role

Reporting to the Board, the ED shall be responsible for steering the organization and help it evolve into a sustainable, front-tier non-profit in the area of education, skill development and access to health services. The ED will be hands-on in providing strategic leadership and have proven abilities in institution building, fund raising, credibility enhancement and developing, managing and fostering stakeholder relationships. A visionary who will inspire and take the team forward to the achievement of the organization’s full potential.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring alignment with its mission, vision and values. Lead change ·

Oversee daily operations of the organization, drive performance and productivity aligned to agreed organizational annual goals, budgets and results ·

Actively identify, analyse, and optimize existing business processes to improve services to constituents ·

Ensure financial stewardship, key performance metrics, M& E, impact results and outcomes ·

Assure the accuracy and integrity of the Organization’s financial reporting and disclosure requirements; including special attention to FCRA, Income Tax and other statutory compliances. ·

Providing support to projects, with a view to enabling convergence across various thematic areas of primary education, skill development and access to health services ·

Establishing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders comprising of Civil Society Organizations, State Governments, Private Sector and CSR Philanthropies and Donors to enable strategic collaborations. Provide timely and accurate analysis and routine reporting on the impact and performance of the programmes/ projects supported by different donors. ·

Serve as an “ambassador” of Children’s mission amongst different stakeholders and continually seeks relationships and opportunities to promote an understanding of, and obtain support for the need of Indian underprivileged children ·

Attract, manage, challenge, develop and maintain an outstanding leadership group and inspire strong leaders at every level of the organization. ·

Governance and Risk management by engaging

directly with the Board of Directors on all governance and compliance matters effectively

Desired profile

·

Post-graduate qualification in Social Sciences/ Social Work /Management ·

15+ years of experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience in the non-profit sector. ·

Candidates who have the previous experience of leading a non-profit organization are desired ·

Key competencies required for the role are leadership, strategic thinking,

financial management, Program development & evaluation, relationship building, communication & advocacy, collaboration, teamwork and governance & compliance
