Ntam Investment Risk

Profile summary:

Good understanding on monitoring and investment strategies in accordance with Investment guidelines. Keep business informed on regulatory matters like up-coming regulatory changes etc., Monitoring and reviewing key activities undertaken by the business. Establish as a Trusted Advisor to the business. The source of assessment and interpretation of all risks in the business for NTAM Senior Management and Northern Trust Corporate risk and to be a consultative partner to the front, middle, and back office capabilities, providing transparent information related to the risk of their portfolios, businesses and processes.

JOB TITLE: SENIOR ANALYST – INVESTMENT RISK

Principal Responsibilities

Supporting Global Investment Risk team on the following areas:–

  • Keeping a check on rating changes and alerting the Team of the reasons for these changes
  • Preparation of Securities Approval Group and Credit Approval Committee meeting materials
  • Producing regular and ad-hoc investment risk analysis reporting
  • Providing recommendations on Wealth Management Municipal bonds to portfolio management
  • Producing Credit research write-ups through thorough analysis of the issuer
  • Preparing minutes that detail all actions that were approved by the Security Approval Group and Credit Approval Committee
  • Tracking liquidity, fund flows, AUMs, issuer ratings, etc for portfolio management and risk teams
  • Producing both regular and customized funds exposure reporting
  • To assist in new projects, initiatives, and client issues as required in relation to this function
  • To ensure the quality of the reporting output in both manual and system generated results through tolerance checks
  • Partner with the risk management team and management on areas related to investment risk management
  • Reviewing the reports produced by Analysts.

Skills / Experience

  • Graduation (B.Com/BBM/B.Sc, B. Eng, MBA or equivalent)
  • Must have an understanding of Fixed Income and basic risk concepts in addition to equities
  • Experience of above 3+ years within the investment management industry
  • Must have strong communication skills, good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and foster excellent working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Work well with people in the same department, both locally and globally
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA and Python programming skills a plus;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
